Minnesota Wedding Videographer

Ope! Hey there!

I’m a 16mm film and digital videographer and have been documenting weddings since 2016.

When I’m not busy documenting or editing I love to spend my time taking film photos, biking, camping, cooking, and whatever else my current hyper fixation is. My wife, Schae, is the love of my life and growing and changing with her over the past 10 years has been the joy of my life. I also strongly believe that pizza and ice cream can my consumed at all times of day.

I’m based in my home-state of Minnesota (best state) but travel across the country for over half of the couples I work with.

Weddings aren’t just my side-gig, they are my passion! I truly strive to capture genuine emotion in my films and I want your film to feel the way you truly felt on your wedding day. Finding a balance between authenticity and artistry is my #1 goal.

Frequently asked questions

Do you have a 2nd shooter or do you shoot alone?

The majority of weddings I film are shot by just me, myself, and I. All but 1 or 2 of the films on my website were shot solo. I believe that keeping my profile small allows you and your guests to feel more natural in front of the lens.

How long does it take to get our film back?

This answer depends on what time of year your wedding is. At the beginning of the year I can have a turnaround as short as 3-4 weeks. As the year goes on and I film more weddings that gets pushed back a bit. Our average turnaround time is about 2 months, 3 months if you’re one of the last weddings of the year. My contracts state a maximum turnaround time of 4 months.

I am obsessive over saving footage and backing up. While filming on the day of, my cameras record to 2 SD cards simultaneously to avoid any cards getting corrupted, causing the loss of footage. In addition, I back everything up to 2 separate back up hard drives immediately after arriving home from your wedding. I will then keep your footage archived for at least a year but I still have some footage I shot back in 2016.

How do you back up footage?

This is one of our most commonly asked questions and such an important one. The right music can make or break your film, and that’s why I want you to leave it up to me! Most popular music isn’t available for us to license ( or it is extraordinarily expensive) and probably just won’t flow right with your film. We use a website called musicbed.com that allows us to license high quality, artistic, and beautiful music.

I spend hours upon hours looking for the right song for your film. I also ask each of our couples what types of music they like as well as any specific songs that are special to them or they just really love. If there are any films you’ve seen that you did or did not like the music please let me know!

How do you choose music?

Yes, yes, yes! I’m sure you hear this from every wedding videographer and photographer, but it’s so very true! Filming in a fresh and unique environment opens up my creativity and lets me do my best work.

Do you shoot film?

I started shooting 16mm film in 2023 and since then I have fallen in love with the medium. Not only is 16mm film beautiful but it also adds a vibe to a wedding day that digital cameras just can’t do. It’s also given me a renewed sense of love for filming on digital cameras.

I use a service called VidFlow that creates a custom webpage that allows you to view, download, and share all the videos we create. Take a look below to see what a full gallery looks like!
